We build outdoor kitchens on a proper base: block or stone-faced counters with weatherproof worktops, space for a grill, pizza oven, sink and fridge, and the gas, power and water brought out safely.
Built like a building
An outdoor kitchen weighs a lot and has to cope with frost, so it goes on its own concrete base with the ducts for gas, power and water laid before the paving. That way nothing has to be dug up later.
Pair it with a pergola
Under a louvred pergola an outdoor kitchen works in the rain too. We plan the two together so the grill has the clearance and ventilation it needs.
Planning
An outdoor kitchen in a rear garden does not normally need planning permission. A roof or pergola over it has to meet the outbuilding height and size limits. Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe engineer, and new outdoor circuits are notifiable electrical work. Planning Portal: outbuildings
